Our guidebooks recommended some churches for viewing and sent us into the maze of narrow streets behind the piazza. Many of them have entry fees.
The Chiesa di S. Martino Vescovo was not mentioned anywhere but we found it impressive. It also was free.
Making our way back toward our hotel, we found ourselves at the Arsenale.
One guidebook suggested that if we would enjoy a park we should extend our walk to the surprisingly wide Via Garibaldi.
Strolling down the park led us back to the Canale di San Marco
and we were surprised by the art installations at the Marinaressa Gardens.
