SPAGHETTI with MUSHROOM and PARMESAN GARNISH: My recipe
GARNISH
10 to 12 mushrooms
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp olive oil
1 cup freshly grated parmesan
SPAGHETTI SAUCE:
¾ cup chopped onion
1 clove garlic, minced
1 pound ground beef
1 can tomatoes: 28 oz
1 can tomato paste: 5 oz
1 cup water
1 tbsp sugar
1 ½ tsp salt
½ tsp pepper
1 ½ tsp oregano
1 bay leaf
¼ tsp cayenne
¼ tsp marjoram
PREPARE SPAGHETTI SAUCE

Chop
tomatoes in a food processor. Set aside.

In
a Dutch oven, stir ground beef with chopped onion and garlic over medium heat until
no longer pink.

Stir
in all the rest of the ingredients.
·
Simmer
for 20 minutes. Set aside and reheat
while cooking noodles just before dinner.
PREPARE MUSHROOM GARNISH

Cut
mushrooms in chunks.
·
Heat
oil and butter in large frying pan over high heat.
·
Sauté
mushrooms until browned.
Cook spaghetti noodles for 10 or 11 minutes.
·
Serve
spaghetti topped with mushrooms and parmesan.
