My cousin, Vernon, was given this photo by Yulia.  He wrote:  there is no monument in the village to honour these two great people. they never located the bodies

Yulia is standing on the left., her sister Maria (Vowk )on the right, her mother, Maryna Dutchak, seated.  (Maryna was my grandmother's sister so Julia was my mother's first cousin.)

Vernon also told me that: hanusiwka is the village guido was from that is where evehenia and anna were raised, Their mom Maria is buried there.

Hanusiwka is the village next to Poberezha.

There's a lot of work involved.  You saute the carrots, celery, and onion.

You also stew the beets before adding them to the stock.

But the result is fantastic!
