So Miroslava is my second cousin.  That makes her children my second cousins once removed.

Mom often made DATE/MATRIMONIAL CAKE.    Seems appropriate :) 

 Bryan found that 2 cups of rolled oats were plenty in the crumble and you can reduce the baking powder from 1 teaspoon to 1/2 teaspoon.

P.P. S.  I’ve just finished reading a book about a family wedding; full of wonderful, crazy moments and connections: aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws  

The last dance at the Delta Wedding was "Should Auld Acquaintance Be Forgot".

This made me think of how we used always to sing "Nam nohi lyita, lyita. .."
