Thinking of MARILYN . . . while baking Cranberry Biscuits

my wonderful cousin, Marilyn, with her mother, Nellie

******

Marilyn once told me that she enjoyed reading my blog in the morning while having a cup of coffee.

Very suddenly, Marilyn left us on October 8.

Marilyn almost always commented on my blogs.

One of the things Marilyn and Bill loved making was biscuits.  They had their own special recipe.

When I made mine, I couldn't help missing Marilyn.

She made blogging more fun.

CRANBERRY BISCUITS

Start preheating oven to 450.  (Heat depends on your oven.  Most cookbooks      suggest 425 for biscuits.)

Grease a baking sheet.

Put into food processor and blend together:

            2 cups flour

            ½ cup sugar

            2 ½ tsp baking powder

            ½ tsp baking soda

            ½ tsp salt

½ cup margarine, butter, lard, or shortening

            Zested rind of one orange

Transfer to a large bowl and lightly stir in:

            ½ cup dried cranberries

            1 cup buttermilk

Drop onto baking sheet and bake 14 to 15 minutes.
